Issues for ’08
Over in the AFLF Networks Forum, Coach Carole has suggested discussion around our “top Ten list of issues and technologies would you like to explore in 08 (and why)”
Link to the Forum here (login req’d .. but i was too slow to respond.)
These are the ideas that fascinate me at the moment:
Issues:
Digital literacies and participatory digital culture,- Development of professional expertise within the ACE sector,
- Shared writing spaces for adult literacy learners,
- Audio books on the web,
- Sharing resources across adult community education (ACE),
- Professional development in the workplace (strategies for on-demand ..),
- Engaging learners.
Other Very Important Issues
(yes i do keep banging on about this):
- Massively boosting the funding to ACE sector,
- Finding creative ways to fund ACE without depending on government handouts.
Technologies:
My interests for the year are shaping up to be these:
- Audio in the classroom,
- Virtual worlds for work experience,
- Intranet for communication within a community organisation,
- Use wordpress as a content management system,
- Blogging in the community or the classroom,
- 23 Things as an intro to web2 social softwares,
- Digital Storytelling (DST) as a way to engage learners.
So that’s all. A big list. Have a great year.
